Whistler is my Town

I am often asked by our customers. Where would you go for certain things like food, shops etc? And what do you like about Whistler? so I jotted down a few of the things that make Whistler
great.

The first place I take a visitor from out of town is Lost Lake

When I crave sushi I
always go to Sachi

To escape people I head to
the trails, any one of the trails, you rarely see anyone

If I want to shop I go to
Vancouver

If you come to my town, get your picture taken on the top of Whistler Mountain with Black Tusk in the background.

If you want Ethnic- you must have Tandoori Grill

When I'm feeling cash-strapped, I go Samurai

For Great Views- everywhere

If my town were a celebrity it'd be,
Woody Harrelson wild and crazy and forever young

The most random thing about my town is the
Canine Wine and Dine

My town has the most single women wishing that there were not so many ski bums.

In my town, an active day outdoors involves running, skiing, snowboarding you name it , it's here

My town's best cultural hot spot is the Whistler Farmers Market, mix it with the locals. the farmers and the artists.

My favorite running route is
Riverside Trail or Comfortably Numb if I'm fit.

You can tell a lot about my town from attending a council meeting- but for fun the Telus
Ski and Snow Board Festival, Children's Art Festival and Cornucopia

You can tell if someone is from my town if they have a bike worth more than their car.

In the spring, ski in the morning and mountain bike in the afternoon and apres anywhere.

In the summer you should have a dinner picnic at Lost Lake.

In the fall, September is the best month warm days and no crowds.

In the winter you should do First Tracks on a bluebird weekday.

A hidden gem in my town is
Lost Lake and it's trails

Fo breakfast try the
Wildwood

For a splurge go to The Rim Rock

Just outside my town, you can visit Pemberton for a slice of farm life.

The best way to see my town is by
bike.

If my town were a pet it would be a puppy lots of energy, loves the outdoors, and has an easygoing personality.

If I didn't live in Whistler I'd live in
Napa

When I think about my town, the song that comes to mind is Journey's Don't Stop Believing

Nutella Cheesecake Recipe

This little gem of a cheesecake could not be easier, or more delicious. I mean who does not like Nutella or cheesecake for that matter.

So easy in fact that you do not even bother turning on the oven!

So get baking, I mean eating.

For the crust:

  1. Melt 6 tablespoons butter
  1. Place about 24 graham crackers in a plastic bag. Roll with a rolling pin until finely crushed. This may be done in small batches.
  2. Measure 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs into a medium bowl.
  3. Add 1/4 cup of sugar to the graham crackers.
  4. Add the melted butter.
  5. Stir or blend together.
  6. Press into 8 inch springform pan, press up the sides as well

In a medium bowl, blend 8 oz cream cheese with 4 tablespoons sugar. set aside

In another bowl

Combine half a cup plus 4 tablespoons nutella
1/2 cup whiipping cream, blend until smooth

in another bowl

whip 1 1/2 cups whipping cream until stiff peaks, divide in two, add half to cream cheese mix, then half to Nutella mix,

then add a white layer, a choclate layer a white layer finish with nutella layer, sprinkle with hazelnuts, or chocoate, cream etc.

Happy 2011

Happy New Year

2011

What to do different?

What to change?

What to give up?

What new challenge?

What to start?

What cause to fight?

What bad habit to break?

What dreams to make come make true?
